Portugal won, for the 4th consecutive year, best destination in Europe at the World Travel Awards 2020, with Porto winning the category of Europe's leading city break destination. This is the first time Porto takes home the award, after Lisbon winning it 4 times over the last decade.
This awards goes to demonstrate Porto's increasing popularity - a city where travelers can experience a combined urban and rustic atmospheres and whose origins have been cemented with hard work and ingenuity.
The World Travel Awards were first created in 1993, to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Through a panel with more than a thousand of experts across the globe it recognizes every year some of the best work done in the sector.
