Major boost for the Portuguese Golden Visa, given no other country in Europe offers birthright citizenship with such a minimum stay requirement - just 7 days a year.
As of November 2020, children born in Portugal to foreign nationals can obtain Portuguese citizenship, provided one the parents lives in Portugal, or is a golden visa holder for at least a year. Note that in case of the latter, the minimum stay for the 1st year is 7 days, and then 14 days for the following 2 years period.
There are excellent news for Golden Visa seekers, and come in a time of great uncertainty. It is still unclear whether or not the government will move ahead with its plans to limit, possibly even completely exclude, Lisbon and Porto from the investment scheme already as of 2021.
